Surveillance Secure Assists DC’s Golden Triangle With New Surveillance Cameras

Surveillance Secure recently assisted the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) in Washington, DC with their surveillance needs.

The team installed new cameras on building rooftops in downtown DC to view areas covered by the BID. Surveillance Secure’s technicians installed a series of both point-tilt-zoom (PTZ) and fixed AXIS cameras. PTZ cameras allow for greater range of coverage with fewer cameras, and have flexible viewing options so the system can automatically zoom in on high definition video for ultimate flexibility and excellent surveillance footage.

This new camera installation completes the first phase of a larger project that will consist of future phases designed to cover larger areas of downtown DC. The Golden Triangle consists of 43 blocks and includes thousands of organizations, hundreds of restaurants and shops, seven hotels, and six national parks.

The first phase of this project covered Farragut Square, a central location in busy downtown DC, as well as multiple nearby streets and intersections. The cameras were installed and configured to a dedicated client network. The camera system will be shared with other DC government entities as needed, including the Metropolitan Police Department.

As continuing phases of this project proceed, the Surveillance Secure team will be installing the appropriate surveillance technology throughout DC’s Golden Triangle for increased safety.
